Jonathan Briggs – Partner, Real Estate Consultancy. Jonathan is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and has extensive experience in UK and Middle East real estate investment, development and consultancy. From 2000 Jonathan trained at Healey and Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield), first in the Central London Investment Department, then the National Valuation Department. Clients included Shaftesbury, owners of The Carnaby Estate, Carnaby Street, London W1, The BBC Pension Trust, Prudential Staff Pension Scheme, The Cabinet Office of the UK Government, Halifax Bank and JP Morgan Bank for whom Jonathan carried out strategic consultancy and valuation advisory work. Moving to Strutt & Parker in 2004, Jonathan carried out portfolio level real estate consultancy for Arlington Business Parks Partnership, the UK's largest business parks fund. His role was to identify underperforming assets, maintain profitability on existing assets, identify sales and purchase suitable assets from the 'off' and open market. Jonathan also advised other institutions, real estate funds and private investors on strategy, acquisitions and disposals including the 2007 acquisition of the Bizspace national UK property portfolio for £77m; the 2006 acquisition of the Akeler's national UK business park portfolio for £650m; the 2005 acquisition of Microsoft UK's headquarters at Thames Valley Park, Reading, UK for £100m; and the 2004 acquisition of Hammersmith Embankment, London, for £100m. In 2008 Jonathan moved to Abu Dhabi to help set up Middle East operations, focussing on Regional Consultancy. Over the past 2 years Jonathan has advised a major US developer on a entrance strategy to Abu Dhabi, a Saudi Arabian government developer on their 1sq km urban regeneration project in Riyadh, a UAE based developer on their Ras Al Khaimah residential development and purchased a UK country house for a member of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family. Jonathan left Strutt & Parker in May 2010 to join Lurista. Jonathan is focussed on providing landlords, developers and investors with strategic advice on existing developments, future strategy and undertakes portfolio/fund consultancy on a client by client basis. Jonathan is a keen motorcross rider and spends most weekends in the sand with his beloved Honda motorcross bike. Jonathan is resident in Abu Dhabi, UAE. email > |
